Jeff is a Senior Director in BDO’s National Tax Office focusing on partnership taxation. He has more than 20 years experience providing tax services to private equity funds, capital management investors, complex operating partnerships and Real Estate Investment Trusts. Examples of services provided by Jeff include: Structuring partnership acquisition and disposition transactions including leveraged partnerships, partnership “Up-C” initial public offerings utilizing tax receivable agreements, and partnership mixing bowl transactions; Structuring domestic and off-shore partnership funds including debt fund acquisitions and partnership “mixing-bowl” and freeze transactions; Modeling complex partnership calculations such as Section 752 liability allocations, Section 704(c) allocations, and maintenance of Section 704(b) capital accounts; Developing and structuring like-kind exchange transactions including reverse and build-to-suit exchanges; Structuring acquisition and disposition transactions for corporate, partnership and REIT entities; Performing REIT due diligence and ongoing qualification testing. Jeff is also the chair of the tax technical committee of BDO’s National Real Estate Industry Group and has been a presenter at numerous conferences, including the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trust’s REITWise Conference.
