Bio
Erica Meaker is the Director of the Office of ESSA-Funded Program within the New York State Education Department. Mrs. Meaker has nearly 20 years of experience in the field of education and school improvement. Mrs. Meaker began her career as a classroom teacher, teaching in both elementary school and high school classrooms. In 2008, she joined the New York State Education Department as an Assistant in Education Improvement Services with the Charter Schools Office where she supported new charter schools, charter school renewals, and overseeing the federal Charter School Program Grant and State Stimulus Grant Programs. In 2011, Mrs. Meaker joined the Office of ESSA-Funded Programs as an Associate in Education Improvement Services where she worked with school improvement planning and ESSA programs supported with federal education funds that are designed to create a set of interlocking strategies to promote educational equity to help to ensure success for all students and schools. Ms. Meaker holds a Master of Science in Education from the College of St. Rose.
