President-elect Joe Biden announced his plan to nominate former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen to head the Treasury Department, and he also unveiled most of his top economic team nominees, CNBC reported. The other nominees are:
* Neera Tanden, who currently leads the Center for American Progress, to serve as director of the Office of Management and Budget.
* Wally Adeyemo, who had previously served as chief of staff at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the deputy director of the National Economic Council and deputy national security advisor, to become deputy Treasury secretary.
* Cecilia Rouse, a labor economist who is currently dean of the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, to become chair of the Council of Economic Advisers (CEA).
* Jared Bernstein, previously Biden's chief economist, to serve on the CEA;
* Heather Boushey, co-founder of the Center for Equitable Growth, also to serve on the CEA.
CNBC noted that Biden has not yet named a potential director of the National Economic Council.
