Taxpayers, hungry for more information, have been visiting the IRS website looking for answers in increasing numbers, with total visitors this tax season so far numbering about 200 million, which the IRS website itself says represents a 10 percent increase over last year. This increase comes during a season that the IRS has repeatedly warned taxpayers that there will be less support and fewer services available due to a combination of decreased resources and increased responsibilities. The IRS pointed out that, in lieu of speaking to a human being, there are a variety of different tools on the website that can perhaps help taxpayers with whatever issues they may be having.
