FAF Mourns Death of Trustee David Villa

David Villa, a member of the Financial Accounting Foundation trustees board, died over the weekend, according to a statement from the FAF. The cause of his death was not released. Villa, who was appointed in 2018, served on the Audit and Finance Committee and the Compensation Committee and was known for what was said to be his "exceptional intelligence."

"His comments and questions during our meetings were incisive, strategic, and always helpful.  As a person, he was warm, thoughtful, and kind," said the FAF.

Beyond serving as a FAF trustee, Villa was also the chief investment officer and executive director of the State of Wisconsin Investment Board. Previous to that, he was the chief investment officer for the State Board of Administration of Florida.
