PCAOB's Proposed Five-Year Strategic Plan Includes Audit Quality Indicators, Transparency, Assessing Tech Disruption

Plan has released five-year strategic plan

Perhaps owing to the recent turnover of PCAOB board members and staff, though, this was the first year that the board engaged a strategic planning consultant to host anonymous public surveys on its strategic priorities—which received hundreds of responses—as well as to conduct more than three dozen one-on-one facilitated interviews with stakeholders. The PCAOB also noted that it sought feedback from all employees, whereas, previously, revisions to the strategic plan had largely been guided by leadership.

The PCAOB had published a concept release comment letter

The PCAOB's strategic plan serves as a roadmap for the organization, as well as the basis for its budget each year. Comments are due Sept. 10, 2018, and may be submitted by email, postal mail, or through the website.
