NEW YORK - (June 17, 2015) – Mitchell Mertz, director of Quality Assurance at Wei Wei & Co., LLP, located in Flushing, has been elected a director-at-large by The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. His three-year term began June 1.

Mertz is an active member and past chairman of the SEC Committee, past chairman of the Audit and Accounting Oversight Committee, and has previously served as the co chair and member of the Nassau Chapter Cooperation with Bankers and Other Credit Grantors Committee. He has also run and spoken at various CPE programs.

Mertz received his BS in accounting from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus. He joined the Society in 1979, is a Nassau Chapter member and resides in the Nassau area.
