The Top Firms for Young Accountants in 2025

The 2025 Best Firms for Young Accountants list by Accounting Today provides a wealth of information about what matters most to the next generation of accountants and the steps being taken by accounting firms despite the ongoing challenges facing the profession when it comes to attracting and retaining young people.

This special group is determined by the broader “100 Best Firms to Work for” rankings and takes into consideration the responses of employees who are aged 30 and under.

To qualify, firms had to meet minimum criteria with regard to the number and proportion of younger employees they have, display high response rates amongst this group, and have posted ratings of at least 80% among the younger employees with regard to positive ratings.

This pool of firms comprises a broad spectrum of firm sizes and geographies ranging from general practices to small firms that are growth-oriented and have low voluntary turnover and generous holiday times.

This year’s top firms span a wide range of sizes and locations. Realize CPA in San Francisco took the top spot, followed by Sansiveri, Kimball & Co. in Providence, and Han Group in Washington, DC.

Across the lists, some themes include flexible or unlimited PTO offerings, highly competitive paid holiday packages, and attempts to integrate young accountants into leadership or client-facing positions early in their career.

Several of the top firms include in their rankings the fact that more than a third of their professionals are under the age of 30.
