About the Cannabis Industry Community

Members of the Cannabis Industry Community are accounting professionals that specialize in or have an interest in the various aspects of compliance, regulation and taxation that impact the cannabis industry.

JOIN THIS COMMUNITY

What we do:

The objective of this community is to provide a forum for addressing the technical, educational and professional needs of the Society membership specifically related to the cannabis industry.

The community undertakes the following activities to meet this stated objective:

  • Holds regularly scheduled meetings to discuss recent technical and legislative issues, including presentations by subject matter experts and noted industry luminaries.
  • Includes an open forum in each meeting to discuss actual practice issues.
  • Supports the Society in identifying and addressing emerging technical or professional issues.
  • Establishes community liaisons with other Society communities where applicable.
  • Presents CPE technical sessions for the Society.
  • Sponsors a conference each year, featuring relevant industry speakers, for members and interested parties.
  • Contributes articles to Society publications.
  • Addresses technical questions from Society members.
  • Proposes and drafts comment letters to authoritative and regulatory bodies on relevant regulatory, compliance and tax issues.

Who should join:

Society members with expertise or an interest in the cannabis industry should consider joining this community. Membership provides a unique opportunity to network with other professionals in the field as well as to support the Society and the profession.
