Guidelines
- Programs run from 1–3 CPE credit hours in length. One CPE credit hour equals 50 contact minutes.
- NYCPA members may register for 1 hour Community CPE programs at no cost. Sessions longer than 1 hour do have a registration fee associated with them.
- Only the FAE may arrange and sponsor community CPE credits. No outside vendors or programs will be considered for community CPE.
- Community chairs or assigned community members need to submit a CPE Request Form and supporting documents 3 weeks prior to the program date. You may also download the form here and submit via email.
- The FAE will list the session in its online course catalog and send a CPE notification to community members and requested guests at least 2 weeks in advance to promote the program.
- Presentation materials must be emailed to FAE staff at least 1 week in advance of program so that they can be made available for registrants to download at least 2 days in advance of the program. The session will not provide printed materials.
- All attendees— including community members, community chairs and paid guests— must register in advance to receive CPE credit.
- Space may be limited. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- The community chair or staff liaison will receive the CPE attendance sheet on the day of the program. Attendees must sign in to confirm their attendance and receive CPE credit.
- Community leaders will take roll call at the beginning and at the end of the CPE session to record registered attendees.
- Attendees will access program evaluations and CPE certificates through the myCPE website after the session.
- Registrants should be encouraged to complete program evaluations.
