COMMITTEE ACTION PLAN

About the NextGen Committee

The mission of the NextGen Committee is to foster a dynamic, supportive network that provides young CPAs and CPA candidates the means to achieve success in their career challenges, create professional and educational opportunities, develop professional relationships and build a better profession.

What we do:

Provide advice and recommendations directly to the NYCPA Board of Directors and the Foundation for Accounting (FAE) Board of Trustees regarding unique programs and services that enhance the skills, professionalism and sense of community for young CPAs and others new to the profession.

  • Disseminate best practices to chapter NextGen committees, especially programs which encourage civic responsibility and professional growth.
  • Foster and participate in the development and growth of NextGen committees in the chapters.
  • Plan and organize a program for an annual NextGen Conference with broad appeal, along with development of sponsorship opportunities.
  • Work with, and provide advice to, other statewide and chapter committees on initiatives to increase involvement of young CPAs.
  • Coordinate local and statewide community service activities involving young CPAs.
  • Work with the Marketing, IT and other departments to provide content for a YCPA page on the NYCPA website providing information on resources available to young CPAs, postings on YCPA events across the state, and stories about young CPA successes.

Who should join:

Membership is open to all chairs of the NYCPA Chapter Young CPA committees, or their designees, and other highly motivated young CPAs or CPA candidates looking to advance in their careers and gain exposure at the statewide level.
