About the Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Committee

The Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Committee is a resource to NYCPA members regarding emerging, as well as on-going, accounting, tax, and business matters, issues, and trends relevant to the entertainment and sports industries, as well as the arts.

JOIN THIS COMMITTEE

What we do:

The Committee provides the following technical, educational, and networking activities:

  • Addresses technical questions from NYCPA members.
  • Provides a liaison between NYCPA members and the Internal Revenue Service (special task forces and divisions exist that deal with taxpayers in our affected industries).
  • Provides a forum for NYCPA members representing talent to exchange ideas and information with NYCPA members representing entertainment and sports businesses, as well as artists
  • Provides the opportunity to comment on exposure drafts that affect the businesses of entertainment and sports, as well as artists
  • Monitors accounting and reporting issues and pronouncements affecting the businesses of entertainment and sports, as well as artists
  • Monitors federal and state legislation relating to the tax laws that affect the businesses of entertainment and sports, as well as artists
  • Conducts educational conferences and technical sessions relevant to NYCPA members as well as the communities at large that serve the businesses of entertainment and sports, as well as artists
  • Provides networking opportunities to NYCPA members at community meetings, technical sessions, and conferences
  • Disseminates information through articles and commentary in professional publications, and other media
  • Responds to media requests made to the NYCPA regarding entertainment and sports, as well as artists
  • Compiles statistical information on the entertainment and sports industries in New York State

Who should join:

NYCPA members and associate members who have expertise in or who desire to expand their knowledge in the areas of entertainment, arts and sports.
