Manhattan/Bronx Chapter Board is Working Hard to Meet Your Needs—We Need Your Input!
By Barbara A. Marino
Manhattan/Bronx Chapter President
By the time you’re reading this in The Trusted Professional, Labor Day will have passed, and we’ll be heading into the fourth quarter of 2025. But as I write this message, it’s 90 degrees and the middle of July—hard to imagine autumn when we’re still in full summer mode!
It can be a challenge to anticipate the future while updating you on what the Chapter Board is doing now, but I’ll do my best.
The Manhattan/Bronx Chapter Board continues to align with the NYCPA’s strategic goals and the specific objectives outlined by current NYCPA President Kevin Matz. But most importantly— we want to hear from you. We are volunteers, and we want to focus our time and energy on what matters most to our members.
How Can We Support You?
What kinds of educational programs or social events would you like to see? Are you interested in speaking at an event, sponsoring, or helping plan one? Do you have an idea you’ve been meaning to share? Let us know—we welcome all suggestions and feedback.
As a member, you have access to a broad range of benefits— but they only add value if you take advantage of them. One benefit I find truly priceless is the opportunity to build lasting professional relationships. The sense of community and connection we create together is what makes our chapter strong. I’m looking forward to meeting you soon!
Please take a few minutes to reflect on how you can fully leverage your membership in the NYCPA and your role as a CPA.
Here’s a short recap of our summer connections and fall preparation:
Summer Professional Excellence
• Webinar: Workers’ Compensation— Strategies to Unlock Potential Refunds and Savings
Speaker: Bobby Giurintano (Premium Recovery Experts Inc.)
• Webinar: Avoiding the New York Estate Tax "Cliff"
Speaker: Michael Enea (Enea Scanlan & Sirignano LLP)
Membership Growth & Engagement
• NYCPA Leadership Conference:
Our Chapter was well represented, allowing members to connect with peers from across the state and discuss key issues impacting our profession.
• Golf Simulation Social Experience:
Another sold-out event! Members and guests tested their skills in golf, hockey, football, soccer, and baseball—while networking and enjoying great food and drinks.
From mini-golf at the Leadership Conference to sports simulations in New York City, we’ve been “driving” membership engagement forward!
Accounting Pipeline
We’re developing our student outreach plan for the fall. If you have contacts in local schools—or are interested in speaking or helping plan events—we’d love your support.
We’re doing our best to keep the momentum going—but we can’t do it alone. Please help us by attending an event, sharing your ideas, or getting involved.

Manhattan/Bronx Chapter President
Special thanks to Fred Kosnac, our chapter president from fiscal year 2025. Fred’s leadership was instrumental in helping us host over 15 successful events and keeping our calendar running smoothly for two consecutive years. His dedication to the chapter inspired me to support him as president-elect, and I’m grateful to continue working alongside him this year in his new role as past president.
