ABOUT THE SPEAKER E. Martin Davidoff is a Certified Public Accountant and an Attorney at Law with offices in Dayton, New Jersey. Mr. Davidoff is licensed to practice both professions in New York and New Jersey and is active in many associations. In November of 2018, he joined with Prager Metis as the Partner-In- Charge of their National Tax Controversy Department. Mr. Davidoff served as President (2008-2009) of the American Academy of Attorney-CPAs (“AAACPA"). He is also the founder of the Internal Revenue Service Liaison Committee, having served as its chair for over a decade. Selected every year from 2004 through 2010 as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting by Accounting Today, it was noted that “Davidoff’s views on issues affecting tax practice are heard at the highest levels of government.” Mr. Davidoff has been selected as a Super Lawyer for 2013, 2014, 2018 and 2019. He is rated a Top Attorney (10.0 Rating) on AVVO and has received AVVO’s Clients’ Choice Award for 2018. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Central Jersey Legal Services, Inc., and as a Trustee of the Middlesex County Bar Foundation. As a member of the AICPA's Tax Division, Mr. Davidoff has served on the Tax Legislative Liaison Committee. He completed two years on the Executive Committee of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (“NJCPA”), having served as the organization's Secretary and as Vice President for Taxation and Legislation. He has also served as President of the Middlesex/Somerset chapter of the NJCPA and as the chairman of the NJCPA Federal Taxation and Membership Committees. Among the honors Mr. Davidoff has received are the 1998/1999 New Jersey Society of CPAs Distinguished Service Award for his dedicated service and commitment to the Society, the SBA 1997 Accountant Advocate of the Year for New Jersey and Region II (New York, New Jersey, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico) after having served as a delegate leader at the 1986 and 1995 White House Conferences on Small Business, and the 1998 Nicholas Maul Leadership Award from the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Davidoff received his undergraduate degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MBA from Boston University Graduate School of Management, and a JD from the Washington University School of Law. He is a frequent lecturer, and has authored 32 articles in CPA Magazine as its IRS Representation Advisor. He regularly testifies before federal and state tax agencies, as well as legislatures, regarding the impact of legislation and tax agency policies on small business and tax practitioners. Mr. Davidoff served for nine years as a Financial Expert on the Board of Directors and Audit Committee for BioClinica, Inc., a publicly held leading global provider of integrated, technologyenhanced, clinical trial services. His service culminated with a successful sale of the company which maximized shareholder value. Mr. Davidoff is also the Founder and Executive Director for Make A Smile Foundation, Inc., a charity holiday shopping spree which has benefitted thousands of children in need for over 35 years.
