John is a Shareholder in our CBIZ New York office. He specializes in pre-issuance reviews and inspections of nonprofit organizations, governments, HUD audits and Single Audits. John also provides consultation on accounting and attestation matters and tests and monitors the firm's quality review policies and procedures. He is a member of the firm’s Audit Methodology Group and Accounting Standards Group. John is on the Executive Committee of the AICPA Government Audit Quality Center (GAQC). He also teaches continuing education classes for the firm and on behalf of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) nationally. John is also a Subject Matter Expert for the Peer Review Division of AICPA, providing enhanced oversight services on their behalf. John is the current chair of the NYSSCPA’s Not for Profit Committee As a sought-out thought leader in his areas of expertise, John has authored numerous articles pertaining to nonprofit accounting/auditing, governmental auditing standards and Uniform Guidance. He frequently leads training seminars for his clients and is an instructor for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He has presented at the annual Nonprofit Conferences of the New York State Society of CPAs; the New Jersey Society of CPAs; and the Connecticut Society of CPAs; as well as the annual Governmental Conferences of the Connecticut Society of CPAs and the Michigan Society of CPAs. Amy West is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AHRC New York City (“AHRC”). AHRC is an organization that provides critical services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. In her role Amy oversees the wide array of financial and administrative functions, strategic financial initiatives, real property and special projects that enable AHRC to fulfill its mission. Amy has direct responsibility for AHRC's operating budget of over $380 Million and manages a staff of 90.   Prior to joining AHRC, Amy served for eight years as the Director of Finance of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. Amy also held the position of Vice President of Finance and Budget at the United States Fund for UNICEF and worked as an auditor for Ernst & Young LLP specializing in the healthcare and not-for-profit industries. She began her career as the Coordinator of Fiscal Operations for the New York Public Library. Amy graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hunter College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She is the Chair of the AICPA’s Not-For-Profit Industry Conference and serves on the AICPA’s Not-For-Profit Advisory Council. She is also Co-Chair of the Nonprofit Finance Leadership Roundtable NYC. Rick has more than 25 years of experience serving nonprofit organizations. He is the Northeast Regional Sector Leader for Nonprofit and Education and is a member of Forvis Mazars' Higher Education Center of Excellence, an internal committee focused on addressing issues important to the higher education industry. Rick focuses on audits and advisory services for nonprofit and higher education organizations. Before joining the firm in 2019, he worked at FASB, where he served as a supervising project manager for almost six years. In that role, he was the project manager on Accounting Standards Update (ASU) 2016-14, Presentation of Financial Statements of Not-for-Profit Entities; ASU 2018-08, Clarifying the Scope and the Accounting Guidance for Contributions Received and Contributions Made; and ASU 2019-03, Updating the Definition of Collections. He also was coordinator for FASB’s Not-for-Profit Advisory Committee. Prior to joining FASB, Rick was vice president and controller at a large national museum in New York for seven years and a senior manager with a large international accounting firm, where he worked for 14 years and specialized in audits of higher education institutions and other nonprofit organizations. Rick is a CPA in New York and New Jersey and is a member of the AICPA and NYSSCPA. He is a member of the AICPA’s Not-for-Profit Entities Expert Panel. He is a lecturer at Columbia University School of Professional Studies, in their Nonprofit Management program. He also has been a frequent speaker with NACUBO, EACUBO, the AICPA, and various state CPA societies. He is a graduate of Montclair State University, New Jersey, with a B.S. degree and an M.B.A. degree As of 9/10/2025

Chad has more than 15 years of experience in public accounting. As a member of Forvis Mazars National Not-for-Profit Group, he provides audit and review services to a variety of not-for-profit clients, including foundations, membership organizations, religious organizations, and other not-for-profits. He serves as the audit director for engagements, coordinating communication between FORVIS and the client on the timing of the audit, deadlines, staffing, reviewing staff work and other relevant items. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Colorado Society of CPAs. Chad is a 2014 graduate of Leadership NOW!, a leadership development program offered through Leadership Pikes Peak, and served on the board of directors and as treasurer for Rocky Mountain Community Land Trust. Jeff Mechanick is Senior Project Advisor for Not-for-Profit Organizations at the FASB. In that role, he provides organization-wide technical and strategic advice on standard-setting activities affecting the not-for-profit sector, guides and facilitates stakeholder outreach with the sector, chairs the FASB’s Not-for-Profit Advisory Committee, and participates in some of the FASB’s broader educational activities. He is also a member of the Technical Advisory Group of the International Financial Reporting for Nonprofit Organizations initiative (#IFR4NPO). Prior to joining the FASB staff in 2006, Jeff spent 20 years working in and with the not-for-profit sector, as the CFO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc., and before that, as a Senior Manager with KPMG, LLP, in the firm’s New York office. From 1992 to 1994, he served as the National Technical Senior Manager for the firm’s Higher Education, Research, and Other Not-for-Profit Organizations (HERON) practice. He is also a past member of the AICPA’s NFP Expert Panel. Jeff received his MBA from Rutgers University and his AB from the University of Chicago, and he is a member of the AICPA and the New York State Society of CPAs. He is also an adjunct instructor in Columbia University’s MS degree program in Nonprofit Management. As of 9/11/2025
