As the Sales & Use Tax Practice Leader, Joe’s practice focuses on sales and use tax issues, especially in the technology (software as a service, cloud computing, digital products, etc.), fine arts and construction industries. Joe is the primary author of our firm’s sales tax blog, All About Sales Tax. Joe is a contributing editor (New York Chapter) of the American Bar Association's Sales and Use Tax Deskbook. Joe also counsels clients regarding personal income tax planning and residency issues. He co-authored, with Mark S. Klein, the 2019 Guidebook to New York Taxes, a reference source of information on this topic and he writes a column for Tax Notes State called “The Endres Assessment." He also advises clients with respect to various federal and state tax incentive-based programs such as the federal renewable energy investment and production tax credits, New York State's Start-Up NY Program, the Excelsior Program, the former Empire Zone Program, the Brownfield Tax Credit Program and the Historical Building Rehabilitation Tax Credit Program. As the Abandoned Property Audits Practice Leader, Joe counsels clients in this area of law and has represented large corporations in complex compliance matters such as multistate abandoned property audits and voluntary disclosures.

Barbara consults on matters related to divorce and social security strategies. She is a member of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals.

Sallie Mullins Thompson started her financial services practice in 1996 and provides assistance to professionals, families, and small business owners in accounting setup/oversight; tax compliance; budgeting/cash flow projections; income/asset protection; investments; and college, retirement, and transition planning. Since the pandemic she delivers all offerings virtually. Ms. Jancko-Baken is a partner at the matrimonial law firm of Fredman Baken & Novenstern, LLP, located in White Plains, New York. She has been practicing in the area of matrimonial law for the past 32 years as a litigator, collaborative attorney and mediator. Ellen is a 1989 graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, having served on the Law Review. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981. Ellen has been married to Scott Baken, Esq. for 40 years and they have three adult children, one is a comedy writer, one a CPA and the third a Rabbi. Ellen is an avid reader and a serious sports fan. Ellen is a member of the Bar of the States of New York and Connecticut. She also is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Ellen currently serves as the Vice President of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals (NYACP), an organization that promotes the collaborative process through a team approach of highly skilled collaboratively- trained professionals. Ellen is a past Chair of the Domestic Relations – Family Law Section of the Westchester County Bar Association. Meg Sussman is a clinical psychologist who has been working with individuals, couples, and families for over 30 years. During that time she has specialized in helping divorcing couples transition to the next phase of their lives so that all family members can have the best possible outcome. Dr. Sussman has been an active member of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals from its inception and currently serves as Secretary of the Board. As a collaborative professional, Dr. Sussman serves as a family specialist where she helps parents and children learn how to communicate more effectively, develop parenting plans and cope with the emotions they experience during this difficult time in their lives. This involves working with attorneys and financial professionals as part of a team. In addition to her psychotherapy and collaborative practice, Dr. Sussman serves as a parent coordinator to assist parents when there are decisions to be made and to work together in the best interests of their children.

Irene Wachsler, CPA, MBA is the current owner of Wachsler CPA LLC, a niche public accounting firm focusing on the Entertainment Industry, Digital/Crypto Currency Compliance, and Tax Controversy. She is also a current Board Member and Virtual Chapter President of the National Conference of CPA Practitioners (NCCPAP). Prior to COVID, she also ran the Massachusetts Society of CPA’s South Shore Breakfast Networking Forum for over 15 years. Irene holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science from the University of Lowell, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Babson College.
